Cimalgex-Client-Leaflet Cimalgex-Client-Leaflet Vetoquinol has added to the support items associated with it’s NSAID, Cimalgex® with two new pet owner support leaflets. The first leaflet is called, ‘Small Animal Surgery and General Anaesthesia Guide’ and is designed to inform the pet owner about the process of anaesthesia and includes information on the use of analgesics to reduce peri-operative pain. According to a published study, worries about peri-operative pain is the second most concerning aspect of a surgical procedure from the pet owners point of view1. This leaflet can be given out to help educate and involve the pet owner in an area which they traditionally feel in the dark about. The second leaflet is called, ‘Managing Osteoarthritis with Cimalgex®’ and is for pet owners whose pet has been prescribed Cimalgex® for osteoarthritis. This educational item gives the pet owner more information about Cimalgex® and also offers extra information about this common disease. Robert Simpson, Cimalgex® Product Manager, comments, “With these two new leaflets, veterinary practices have the ability to involve their customers more when their animal has been diagnosed with OA, or if it is to undergo a surgical procedure. This involvement and education will ensure that a veterinary practice’s clients are better informed about relevant procedures and conditions. This type of extra service from veterinary practices could increase customer loyalty and customer return rates by exceeding the pet owner’s expectations in terms of service. These two new leaflets add to the leaflet currently available which aims to educate pet owners on identifying the signs of pain in general. All of these materials are complementary to the Cimalgex® waiting room poster and pain scoring forms which are currently available from Vetoquinol.” To order any of this literature free of charge please contact your local Vetoquinol Territory Manager or simply call 01280 825497. 1.
