Animal Health Advisor masthead Veterinary Business Development, publisher of some of the UK’s top veterinary publications, has announced it will launch a new magazine, called Animal Health Advisor, in April. The announcement comes hot on the heels of news that suitably qualified persons (SQPs) are to be known as animal health advisors (AHAs) from now on. The Animal Health Distributors Association (AHDA) confirmed the name change for the valued holders of relevant medicine qualifications at its conference earlier this year. The first monthly publication in the sector will be available free of charge to AHAs, and will feature a mixture of news, industry information, in-depth clinical and practical articles and other content relevant to the roles of those working with UK animal owners. After completing the SQP qualification, AHAs must commit to a regular programme of continuing professional development (CPD). Animal Health Advisor will, therefore, also feature articles on a variety of subjects to help AHAs meet and exceed their ongoing CPD commitments. Paul Imrie, Veterinary Times editor and VBD editorial manager, said: “AHAs play an increasingly important role within the animal health industry and now the time is right to provide a journal dedicated to meeting their needs. We already reach a significant number of AHAs through our veterinary and veterinary nursing publications, which include some of the most consistently rated ‘best read’ publications in the industry.” He continued: “Animal Health Advisor is a welcome addition to our stable of independent publications. Our journals are already well known to many people in the agricultural, equine and pet industry – particularly suppliers of animal medicines and expert authorities on the diseases of animals, farm productivity and key trends in animal management. This network of contacts and resources will really benefit AHAs, enabling us to bring news of the very latest thinking and comprehensive articles from authors that AHAs can really trust. We are very much looking forward to delivering a vibrant and respected journal to the AHA community.” To receive a free subscription or for further information contact Animal Health Advisor on 01733 383532.
