Stacey Godbold, a Registered Veterinary Receptionist from Paddons Vets in Wisbech, was named Vetpol’s CPD Champion of 2023 at the first ever Vetpol Congress on the 16th April, 2024. The Congress, which took place in Solihull, consisted of an informative day of lectures followed by a party and awards evening, where Stacey was recognised for her commitment to CPD, exceeding her requirement by the largest margin of all SQPs on the Vetpol register.

While nearly 50% of all Vetpol SQPs exceeded their CPD targets last year, none did so by as large a margin as Stacey. With a CPD requirement of three hours, Stacey completed more than 13 times her target and undertook 40.75 hours.

Caroline Johnson, Director at Vetpol, spoke of Stacey’s achievements, “Her commitment to learning and CPD is truly inspiring. To have exceeded her quota by such a fantastic margin is something to be truly proud of, and perfectly exemplifies the high standards that we strive for within the SQP community and it is great to see Stacey clearly enjoying what she is learning. Having the opportunity to share this achievement with delegates at our recent Congress and see all of the hard work celebrated was a fantastic experience for myself and the rest of the Vetpol team.”

Being the first SQP Congress in the UK, Vetpol worked hard to make the event memorable and enjoyable for all involved. Lisa Giddings, Professional Development Lead at Vetpol, talked more about Congress, saying, “It was a delight to be involved in Congress planning. Everyone on the team worked so hard to make the day a success, and it was a lovely chance to meet lots of new and familiar faces, and celebrate the successes of SQPs.” Stacey wasn’t the only SQP recognised for their achievements at Congress. Vetpol also awarded three ‘SQP Ambassador’ awards to Jason Chadwick, Jordan Perkins and Paul Cartledge to appreciate their outstanding efforts to continued SQP excellence.

Lisa continued, “I am looking forward to many more events like this in the years to come and having the opportunity to celebrate the ongoing achievements of Vetpol, network, and generally commend all of our SQPs for their ongoing commitment to personal and professional development.”
