UK based veterinary nutraceutical manufacturer, VetPlus, headquartered in Lytham, Lancashire, has announced that sales for the year ending June 2014 have broken through the £10,000,000 barrier for the first time.
Commenting on the news VetPlus Chairman David Haythornthwaite said: “It’s been a phenomenal year for us. Overall the business has grown by 22 per cent with profits increasing by 130 per cent. In the UK our strategy of focusing on the independent vet practices is paying dividends, as is the introduction of new products. We still have huge opportunities for growth in the UK, and all the signs are very positive.”
However, the biggest success story is outside the UK where international sales are up by 35 per cent year on year.
Neil Pullar, VetPlus International Sales Director is delighted. He commented: “We put together a strategic growth plan seven years ago and it’s really starting to bear fruit. We now have 26 exclusive partners worldwide and have some exceptional success stories in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in Korea, China and New Zealand. We have a great business model that works well for all concerned and we expect to see a further 30 per cent increase in sales this coming year.”
VetPlus also has wholly owned subsidiaries in Ireland, Spain and Germany with plans to open in France in 2015.
Director of Overseas Subsidiaries, Flora Correderas said: “It’s been a pretty good year all round. Our Spanish subsidiary has returned to profit after the financial crisis and while Germany still has teething problems, the market for our products is huge. Whilst we don’t expect to show a profit there next year, we are totally focused on growing our market share and establishing our brand. In the meantime, plans for the opening of our French subsidiary are at an advanced stage and we expect to make an announcement shortly.”2929 views
