Award winning speakers are set to deliver a masterclass in recruitment, training and performance management at VPMA Congress 2012 in January next year. Sheila Roe Grosdidier, RVT, PHR and Mark Opperman, CVPM, both of VMC Inc – a veterinary practice management firm – are travelling from the US shortly after giving talks at the North American Veterinary Conference, to present a 2-day seminar for VPMA on everything practice managers and owners need to know to take their HR procedures to the next level.
The sessions will cover the changing labour market, the latest recruitment interview techniques, training plans, optimising team performance, developing financial compensation packages and implementing change. The final session at the end of the two days will discuss ways to capitalise on opportunities and how to ‘future-proof’ the practice. Human resource problems can be very contentious within veterinary practice and a source of sleepless nights for many managers. Being able to develop positive HR strategies is significant in moving practices forwards.
Sheila Grosdidier has been named the Speaker of the Year by the North American Veterinary Conference three times, twice by the International/Australia Veterinary Nurses Association and has spoken at over 200 conferences globally; Mark Opperman has a VHMA Lifetime Achievement Award and has also previously been awarded Speaker of the Year by the North American Veterinary Conference. Both speakers are published authors and have worked with over 800 veterinary hospitals across the US, as well as training over 300 practice managers.
Rebekka Fiorani, President of VPMA has said that she is very excited to be able to bring two such high quality speakers to the UK as part of the association’s ‘gold standard’ management CPD during VPMA conference 2012.
All the information about congress is easy to find at a dedicated website www.vpmacongress.co.uk where prospective delegates can also register on line. Last year, the event broke all records and was fully booked, so early registration is advised.1982 views
