Awards for young researchers in endocrinologyAuthor: DechraWebsite: http://www.dechra.com/ Posted: Thursday 1st October, 2009 A select group of eight young veterinary researchers from across the globe have been awarded €400 each by Dechra Veterinary Products (Dechra). The researchers, all aged under 35, were invited to present their work at the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) Companion Animal Congress, after their study abstracts were shortlisted by the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology (ESVE). Dechra pledged the €400 to help fund each researcher’s travel and registration for the 2009 congress held in Porto, Portugal. The 2009 winners were Stijn Niessen and Timothy Williams from the UK; Miguel Campos and Isa Rodriguez Pineiro from Spain; Melanie Osto and Eric Zini of Switzerland; Ghita Benchekroun of France; and Lien Yu Hsin of Taiwan. The resulting presentations at the congress revealed the very latest research in veterinary endocrinology. Matthew Olsen, product manager at Dechra Veterinary Products says: “We are pleased to be sponsoring the award for the second year and to assist these young researchers to present at ECVIM-CA Congress. Dechra’s history in endocrine disorders means we are very interested in the latest research and are committed to supporting up-coming veterinary endocrinologists across the world.” This article has been viewed 362 times.
