A pioneering, interactive communications portal to keep practices up to date with the latest product information, videos and compliance advice will be launched by Virbac at the London Vet Show. 'Virtual Virbac' utilises Blippar, a market-leading image-recognition and augmented reality platform with the power to bring the physical world to life using the camera in a smart device.
Virtual Virbac is accessed by scanning or 'blipping' the specially created interactive image (which can be found on literature, adverts and on merchandise) with a smart device onto which the free Blippar app has been downloaded from their appstore. Blipping causes the image to become animated and Virtual Virbac, the interactive platform featuring information and support materials on current key products, appears. It currently features product details and information on the new ‘Blippable’ packing with the company's new wormer Milpro® and information on their new products Buprevet® (buprenorphine multidose) and Pronefra® (which aids in the management of CKD). Users of the portal can also use it to contact Virbac directly with requests for further information.
Simon Boulton MRCVS, Marketing Manager for Companion Animals at Virbac, said: "With the launch of Virtual Virbac, we are harnessing 21st century technology to showcase our latest products in an eye-catching way and to offer our practices a new way of interacting both with us and with their clients. The Virtual Virbac image, which will feature on our stand at the London Vet Show and across a range of vet-facing promotional materials, is the gateway to Virtual Virbac and, once they enter, our customers will have access to a unique resource of clinical and support information which will be updated regularly as new products are launched and the platform itself, develops"
He added: "As an aid to owner education and compliance, we have also introduced Blippar technology onto the packaging of our new wormer, Milpro. By blipping on the image on the packaging, owners gain access to post-dispensing educational videos, a free built-in reminder system and other Milpro related product information.
"We believe that new technologies, such as augmented reality, offer exciting new ways to help us build closer relationships with our customers and are delighted to be launching Virtual Virbac at the London Vet Show. We hope our customers enjoy using it and ‘blipp’ regularly so that they stay up to date with the latest product information."1725 views
