Chertsey, UK, 8 December 2010, Visbion (
www.visbion.com) is delighted to announce that the British Veterinary Association/Kennel Club (BVA/KC) Canine Health Schemes has chosen its specially developed solution to enable hip scoring and elbow grading of digital images under the Hip & Elbow Dysplasia Schemes.
Until recently, vets have been required to submit films to the Schemes and the BVA scrutineers take the necessary measurements manually, whilst viewing the films on a light box.
Digital x-rays can now be submitted on DICOM CDs and, once checked against the accompanying certificate, uploaded to the system using a Visbion workstation. The Visbion software displays the images on dual high resolution monitors and provides the scrutineers with specially developed tools to take accurate assessments and measurements. The image can then be securely archived.
As more and more practices move to digital x-ray, the demand for digital submission has increased. To be able to work with digital images directly, without the need to print them out onto radiographic film or photographic paper, will inevitably lead to increased efficiency for both the BVA/KC Canine Health Schemes and individual practices.
