Congress poster The UK's two major veterinary management congresses have merged to offer top class veterinary practice management CPD for all members of the practice team. By investing two days at the beginning of the year, vets, nurses and practice managers can pick up new ideas and formulate practice plans. The Veterinary Business and Management Congress 2013 is the logical next step after two years of successful combined business and management CPD courses from The Veterinary Practice Management Association and Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons and recognises the importance of practice owners and partners working closely with their managers to build strong teams and profitable practices.  The two organisations hope that owner vets will attend with their practice managers, head vets or head nurse so that the team can compare notes and work together to implement the best of what they have learnt. The Veterinary Business and Management Congress 2013 has something very special to offer, with 20 masterclass sessions, four lecture streams to choose from, world renowned speakers and over 30 hours of top notch CPD. The 2013 Veterinary Business and Management Congress takes place at the Heythrop Park resort near Oxford, on 24th- 26th January 2013. Delegates can register online at www.vetmanagement.co.uk or by calling 01926 410454. Non-members are welcome to attend. On Friday 25th January, the lecture streams on offer include practice health and finance, as well as people performance management. The next day sees the focus shift with streams in personal development and practice strategy. With beginner, advanced and masterclass level presentations available, delegates can choose the topic and level that suits their needs best. Both organizations will hold their AGMs at the event. As well as providing all the congress information and facility to register, the website has a great blog, with bite size wedges of wisdom from speakers and sponsors: ideal for those with just a few minutes to spare who want to expand their horizons. The Congress is sponsored by Norbrook and Citation plc (platinum sponsors), Pfizer Animal Health (gold sponsor), Merial Animal Health, (silver sponsor) and bronze sponsors Purina, Novartis Animal Health, The Practice Business Pet Health Plans, St Francis Group, Veterinary Insurance Agency, Pet Cremation Services, Rickerby’s Solicitors, Virbac Animal Health, Careline4Vets and Henry Schein Animal Health.
