Helen and Slug Helen Sanderson (President of the Veterinary Practice Management Association) with her working labrador Slug The VPMA is hosting 4 regional meetings during September and October, including a meeting centred on equine practice management. Topics look at coping with change in the equine industry and fee setting, as well as ensuring cash flow and minimising bad debt. VPMA President Helen Sanderson is also Regional Organiser for the Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire area whose members include a substantial number of equine practices. An accomplished rider herself, Helen was keen to have a meeting targeted at equine practices to help with the specific challenges they face. She commented, ‘Equine practices have been cited as being recession-proof in the past, when they have remained buoyant despite practices around them struggling or in negative growth. However, equine clients are facing the same realities as the rest of us. People are losing their jobs and cutting family budgets. If practices are starting to feel the pinch with this long-drawn out economic downturn, it’s because their clients are feeling it too. We can’t be complacent. I’ve been asked for VPMA support in helping clinics to face these challenges and I’d urge anyone managing an equine practice to come along and learn more about what they can do about them.’ The equine meeting takes place on Tuesday the 1st of October in Hungerford. Other regional meetings include: Joint Avon, Somerset, Devon & Cornwall: Meeting in Exeter, Wednesday 18th September Your Customer Journey ... how easy do you make it for people to recommend you?
