VPMA Congress Promises To Lift Spirits In January

Party season may not be far off, but the VPMA (Veterinary Practice Management Association) is promising that January will be anything but a dull post festive season anti-climax when the annual conference kicks off on the 27th. The social programme includes a cocktail masterclass on Thursday evening, which may leave attendees shaken and stirred as they learn how to create delicious cocktails. The masterclass will be followed by a networking dinner, while a sparkling reception and banquet is on offer on Friday 28th.

Far from being in the shadow of the social programme, the commercial exhibition will be enticing and enlightening with lots to see and do.

As well as offering the usual opportunity to talk about new products, special offers and to have a chat about business priorities, principal sponsor Norbrook Laboratories Ltd is offering all delegates the opportunity to enter a free prize draw.

Enhanced Sponsor Pfizer Animal Health is offering delegates two 45-minute breakfast business seminars starting at 8 am. The Friday session will concentrate on the implications of the latest Fort Dodge Index reports for companion animal practices, while the Saturday session will discuss some of the changes taking place in the veterinary market today. Both sessions are free to delegates but places are limited. To register for a place, email vpma@mojoconsultancy.com or call 01727 859259.

Enhanced sponsor Nestle Purina will be offering tailor made packages for individual practices based on a pet food category strategy approach, which incorporates an in-depth analysis of current market trends.
Standard sponsor Novartis is keen to speak to delegates about business partnering that offers support across key areas such as people management, customer excellence, business performance and professional education.
Standard sponsor Hill’s Pet Nutrition will be talking to delegates about the exciting plans for 2011 and demonstrating online tools that help practices to provide professional recommendations and follow up.
Standard sponsor VetShare Buying Group will be providing free advice on how practices can cut their costs on both pharmaceuticals and essential practice services while retaining their existing wholesaler relationship. A special congress offer will be available.

Enhanced sponsor Dunlops and standard sponsors Onswitch and Intervet will also be in attendance with a range of services on offer.

Organiser Libby Sheridan of Mojo Consultancy says that there has been fantastic interest in the event, “Companies that work with the profession have been so keen to support the VPMA conference that the commercial exhibition is already full with three months still to go. I am sure that all delegates, whether they are experienced practice managers or those considering starting up their business, will get a lot from this conference, both from networking, listening to the exciting line up of speakers and from speaking to specialist suppliers who have a keen interest in helping practices run as efficiently as possible.”
