Vétoquinol is offering a free webinar to veterinary surgeons entitled, ‘Chronic Pain in the Geriatric Dog: Decision Making and Risk Management’ at 8.30pm on Wednesday 15th June 2011.

Jo NurrellThe speaker is Dr. Jo Murrell, Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anaesthesia at Bristol Vet School and holder of The European Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Jo also leads the anaesthesia and analgesia research group at Bristol.

Treating ageing dogs can be problematic, particularly when it comes to pain management, as the presence of concurrent disease or compromised organ function means that contraindications and other factors can limit the treatment protocol. The speaker will address how to develop a practical approach to risk management, taking into account the needs of the patient and the client’s concerns, helping vets to make clinical decisions with confidence.

All that is needed to view the webinar is access to a PC or MAC and a Broadband connection. Time has been allowed at the end of the session to ask questions, as the subject matter is sure to provoke an active debate.

To register for the free webinar go to www.thewebinarvet.com/vetoquinol. Enter the code veto11 to obtain the webinar free of charge. Webinars are proving to be an extremely popular way to access CPD whether at home or at the practice, so those wishing to attend are advised to register as soon as possible.
