American Humane Association, the nation’s voice for the protection of children and animals, is asking prospective pet owners What can an adopted dog bring to your life? in celebration of American Humane Association’s Adopt-A-Dog Month® this October. Adopt-A-Dog Month is a nationally recognized event that encourages people to help reduce pet overpopulation by adopting their next canine companion from an animal shelter or breed-rescue group.

“This year we are asking: What can an adopted dog bring to your life? There are so many responses to that question — a best friend, an exercise buddy, a companion for an aging parent. An adopted dog can be all of these things — and so much more.”
“Adopt-A-Dog Month is a strong reminder of the urgent need to find homes for millions of homeless pets across America,” said Dori Villalon, vice president of Animal Protection for American Humane Association.

“This year we are asking: What can an adopted dog bring to your life? There are so many responses to that question — a best friend, an exercise buddy, a companion for an aging parent. An adopted dog can be all of these things — and so much more.”
