Proper oral exams and teeth cleanings by a veterinarian help ensure the overall health of your pet.

More pet owners are aware of the importance of dental care for their cats and dogs. But some pet owners are opting for teeth cleanings by non veterinarians at pet stores or groomers instead of a thorough oral examination and cleaning by a veterinarian. So why should you insist on a veterinarian cleaning your pet’s teeth?

In this podcast, Dr Jan Bellows, a board-certified veterinary dentist with All Pets Dental in Westin, Fla., and president-elect of the American Veterinary Dental College, talks about proper dental care in pets.
