Winners announced at the Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards 2016

The winners of the Petplan and Association of Dogs and Cats Homes Animal Charity Awards were announced this week in a glittering ceremony at Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole.

Now in its fourth year, the awards celebrate the incredible work, dedication and commitment of animal charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands and the charity teams, volunteers and employees that go above and beyond in their mission to improve animal wellbeing.

Petplan's Head of Marketing, Isabella von Mesterhazy, comments: “We’re delighted to announce the deserving winners of the Animal Charity Awards 2016. All finalists and winners should feel very proud of this great achievement; it’s testament to their hard work in furthering the wellbeing of the animals in their care. Each and every one of the individuals and teams nominated go above and beyond in their mission to improve animal welfare and it’s brilliant to be able to celebrate them through these awards.”

The winners for each of the categories are:

Animal Charity Team of the Year

In response to being named the category winners, the team at The Mayhew Animal Home said: “Winning this Petplan award feels unbelievable. For us to get this recognition means so much, especially as we’re celebrating our 130th year this year! We’re just so proud of the whole team at Mayhew and want to say a big ‘thank you’ to Petplan for making this brilliant event happen.”

Particularly impressive for the panel of judges was the level of dedication displayed by every member of the Mayhew team – everyone working in the charity is passionate about their individual roles. They strive to create a relaxed and homely environment and take pride in ensuring the correct person is matched to the correct animal on every occasion.
