Uncomplicated corneal ulcers should heal within 7 days. This talk will summarise the approach to dealing with those frustrating corneal ulcers in dogs and cats that fail to heal despite seemingly appropriate treatment. In my talk I will highlight the most common causes of non-healing ulcers and how to identify them. In particular I will focus on debridement and gridding of corneal ulcers - when this is indicated, how often should it be performed and tips to improve success rates.
The talk will be aimed at first opinion general practitioners who wish to improve their knowledge of basic ophthalmology.
