WWF Walk For Wildlife 2006

Author: WWF-UK
Posted: Friday 1st September, 2006. 00:00:00

Enjoy a fun day out this autumn, and help raise funds to protect snow leopards in Nepal's Sacred Himalayan Landscape, by taking part in WWF Walk for Wildlife.
It's WWF's biggest fundraising event, with over 6,000 people taking part each year in our national sponsored walk.

Join one of 10 Flagship walks

This year we're organising 10 Flagship walks at venues across the UK as part of WWF Walk for Wildlife. These sponsored walks will take place on Sunday 8 October.
  • Banham Zoo Walk

  • Chester Zoo Walk

  • Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens Walk

  • Greenwich Park Walk

  • Hazlehead Park Walk

  • Knole Park Walk

  • Marwell Zoo Walk

  • Polesden Lacey Walk

  • Sutton Park Walk

  • Whipsnade Wild Animal Park Walk
Each event will be a great day out, with extra activities taking place including a discovery trail for children, face painting and games as well as a goody bag and badge for each walker.

Register now to join one of our Flagship walks.

Places are limited and all walkers must register to take part. There is a small registration fee to help towards the cost of running the event. This means that more of your sponsor money goes towards the cause!

When you register, we will send you a pack including a sponsor form, an information sheet on the walk and a ticket for entry.

Make sure you wear suitably warm clothing and appropriate footwear. We also recommend that you bring waterproofs, snacks and a drink. Children will have the opportunity to take part in a discovery trail, so please bring a pen and notebook along.

Help out at a Flagship walk

If you would like to take part in WWF Walk for Wildlife in a hands-on way but don't want to organise your own walk, you can join the volunteers helping at one of our Flagship walks. Please contact Duncan Watkinson, Volunteer Co-ordinator, on 01483 412303 or volunteer@wwf.org.uk

Organise a walk

It can be great fun and very rewarding to organise your own sponsored walk, which can take place any time in October.
  • You can choose the number of walkers you have.

  • You can decide where and when it takes place.
Whether it's with friends and family, your local school, Scout or Guide group, or through work, we'll support you every step of the way.

Register now to organise your own walk and we'll send you a FREE Walk for Wildlife fundraising pack.

It contains loads of hints, tips and ideas on how to make your walk a great success. We'll also send you sponsor forms and badges for your walkers to wear on the day!

You can register online to organise your own walk or telephone 01483 426333.

Extra sponsor forms
