Zoetis logo Zoetis (formerly Pfizer Animal Health) is inviting equine vets to join them for their first live webinar on equine immunomodulators, to be held at 8pm on Wednesday 3rd of April 2013. Equine immunomodulators – anything new to help manage “The Virus”? will be delivered by European Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine, Tim Brazil, BVSc PhD Cert EM DECEIM MRCVS and Zoetis National Equine Veterinary Manager, Wendy Talbot, BVSc CertEM (Int Med) DipECEIM MRCVS. The webinar is free of charge and counts towards continued professional development. At the end of the webinar, attending vets can download a personalised CPD certificate. The 60 minute session provides some thought-provoking answers to the question of how to reduce the clinical signs of equine respiratory disease associated with stressful conditions such as racing, performing, travelling and crowding. Zoetis recently launched Zylexis for horses, the first and only equine immunomodulator* licensed in the UK to reduce the clinical signs of respiratory disease associated with over-crowding and stress. Zylexis contains inactivated parapox ovis virus (iPPOV), a super-antigen that boosts a horse’s immune system to reduce the effects of infectious respiratory disease1,2 – bridging the gap between potential and performance. Research has shown a 40.3% reduction in the clinical signs and duration of respiratory disease in young horses under conditions of crowding and stress and a significant reduction of purulent nasal discharge when using Zylexis.3,4 Furthermore, no local or systemic adverse events were observed in a 999 dose study.5 It’s quick and easy to register for the webinar. Simply visit www.zoetis.co.uk/zylexiswebinar to register in advance and you will automatically receive an email containing all the information you need in order to attend the event. We recommend that you join the meeting five minutes early to ensure that your PC and connectivity provide a good quality viewing experience.
