PetDialogTM launch signals new era for vet practice communication Zoetis is launching a new app that can change the way vet practices communicate with their clients by taking advantage of the rapidly growing Smartphone market. PetDialog is the only ‘white label’ app that vet practices can tailor using their own branding, and market to clients as a completely new and user-friendly way of managing their pet’s health and well-being. Available for download from both apple and android app stores, and only accessible with a unique practice id code, pet owners can now manage their pet’s health on the go. As they use the app, PetDialog builds a story of their pet's life and vitality helping both them and their vet choose the best course of action to keep their best friends in top shape. John Toole, Product Manager at Zoetis comments: “This is absolutely the right time to launch this app. Smartphone ownership has rapidly increased from 38% to 60% in the last three years and by 2015 it is predicted that 73% of the UK population will own a Smartphone. The use of Smartphones is no longer just the domain of the young – use and ownership is pretty evenly spread among age groups between 24 and 64, with greatest growth among the 44 -74 age group over the past three years. It comes as no surprise that recent market research confirms 57% of UK pet owners own an Android or iOS device.” “Health businesses are the most trusted by UK mobile users when it comes to receiving mobile messages. More than 11 million consumers have opted in to receive mobile messages from health companies, particularly to take advantage of appointment reminders. This form of communication can really boost loyalty where vet practices are concerned, as 74% of users say that mobile messages that had a use or benefit would maintain or enhance their loyalty to that brand.” “PetDialog has been a significant investment for us and with the help of our customers we plan to re-invest in a robust development stream to ensure the app becomes a valuable tool for pet owners and practices alike. To help practices launch and market the app we’ve developed an extensive bespoke range of marketing support materials from web pages and email templates to practice posters that come alive in the waiting room with augmented reality. A recent demonstration of the app was well received by a select group of Zoetis customers who had extremely positive feedback. Increased compliance seems to be a perceived benefit shared by many as the app features a calendar where owners can see upcoming appointments and manage and view treatment reminders. Other features include a check-in section which allows owners to keep track and chart progress of their pet’s exercise, meals, weight and even walks that can be shared on social sites such as facebook. This information can all be tracked over weeks and months so owners can see trends and fluctuations in their pet’s activity. And there’s some fun stuff available too such as a wellness quiz where owners can test their knowledge and get helpful tips on how to keep their pets in top condition. . For horse owners, Zoetis also developed HorseDialog - a similar ‘white label’ app which equine practices can bespoke to their practice branding. Further to the current benefits the app offers both to the vet practice and owner, in time, Zoetis believes that PetDialog will significantly improve the quality of data on pet and equine health nationwide.
