I graduated from the University of Copenhagen in January 2017 after completing my master thesis regarding the effect of continuous digital hypothermia on lamellar energy metabolism and perfusion during the development of laminitis in an oligofructose model. This was carried out in cooperation with the Australian Equine Laminitis Research Unit, Queensland University, supervised by Dr. Andrew van Eps. During the rotating Equine Clinical Track at University of Copenhagen I developed a profound interest in equine medicine and surgery, and I am keen to pursue specialisation within this field. I am thorough in my clinical examinations and enjoy the problem-orientated approach and diagnostic investigation that is accessible in a high-quality referral hospital. I am used to deal with challenging work situations, which I manage through a structured and efficient approach. My current work place provides 24 hours veterinary service 365 days a year in a large area of southern Sweden, which has provided me with great experiences in both daily elective procedures and emergency situations. The exchange at Queensland University enhanced my interest in research and teaching. Alongside my research project I volunteered as an assistant teacher in practical classes in diagnostic nerve blocks and obstetrics workshops. I enjoyed this very much, and I perceive teaching as a valuable part of my own learning. Motivation and curiosity encourage me to further my knowledge and clinical skills. Throughout my study I have completed equine placements in holidays and worked in a veterinary practice in after-school hours and weekends. As a focused and hard working person, and I am especially eager to explore the field of equine internal medicine and lameness investigation. I am a very positive and outgoing person who is motivated by a professional and helpful working environment and I therefore consider myself as the ultimate team player.
