Date: Tuesday 19th February, 2019 - Wednesday 20th February, 2019
Start time: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Duration: 2 hour(s)
Cost: £1090

This course was devised for equine and mixed animal practitioners who have a working knowledge of equine ophthalmology and provides an update on recent developments in the field. The speaker panel consisting of 3 of the most highly respected and experienced equine ophthalmologists worldwide will be discussing the current thinking on pathophysiology of different conditions affecting the eye and will cover established and recently developed cutting-edge diagnostic/therapeutic techniques and medications through lectures and in particular via wetlabs.

The 7 hours of practical sessions will give attendees plenty of opportunity to put theory into practice on the many clinical cases, on equine specimens and to ask questions in a relaxed atmosphere in small groups (2 – 4 attendees), all under the supervision of the specialists. Attendees will furthermore be able to choose which diagnostic and therapeutic techniques they would like to have demonstrated and train on equine specimens at the following practical stations: Surgical & Ophthalmologic Procedures; Ocular Ultrasound; Examination of Horses with Eye Problems and Pre-Purchase Examination Case Discussions. Attendees can also bring challenging or undiagnosed cases to the course, which will be worked up by the attendees under the supervision of the specialists. At the end of Day 1 a vitrectomy demonstration will be given on an anesthetized clinical case.
