Vomiting and diarrhoea is one of the most common presentations that we encounter in practice and gastrointestinal disease is a major cause of patient admittance to the hospital, with a proportion of patients requiring advanced and intensive nursing care. A veterinary nurses involvement in these cases can be anything from giving specific advice on the phone through to intensive nursing care of a pancreatitis or septic patient.
