Speaker: Jo Hinde from Lagolearn'Be A Better Rabbit Nurse'(1hr) Holistic anaesthesia - going beyond the vitals. This would explore the importance of husbandry and how diet, enclosure & behaviour can all affect anaesthesia. It would also include a brief recap of anatomy & physiology.(1hr) Airway Management - is there a gold standard? This will discuss the pro's and con's of current options and a range of scenarios.(40mins to 1hr) Airway Management Practical. Hands on teaching where the delegates learn how to intubate a rabbit using a visualisation method.(1hr) The Hospitalised Rabbit - keeping them hoppy. This covers a range of info including kennel set up, assisted feeding & IVFT.(30 mins) IV Catheter Practical. Hands on teaching where the delegates learn how to place an IV catheter in a rabbits marginal ear vein.(1hr) How To Set Up Successful Rabbit Clinics. This discusses what types of clinics are suitable for nurses to run, how to body condition score & how to conduct a top to tail health check. It also covers key information that owners need and a range of posters and options for waiting room displays and owner education packs.(1hr) Common Conditions & Infectious Diseases. This will cover the most commonly seen problems and treatment options. It will also cover up to date information about Myxomatosis, RVHD1 & RVHD2 including vaccination, testing and treatment options.(1hr) How To Be A Rabbit Friendly Practice. This discusses ways that a clinic & its rabbit protocols can be improved to make them more rabbit friendly. This includes waiting room, consults & kennel set ups, rabbit specific forms, analgesia protocols and information about the RWAF Vet Scheme.

The Speakers

Speaker: Jo Hinde from LagolearnJo has worked in the veterinary industry since 2007 and has always had a special interest in rabbits. She owns and runs LagoLearn, providing rabbit specific CPD to veterinary professionals in both the UK and internationally. She also spends a significant amount of voluntary time working with charities and parliamentary groups to highlight animal welfare and is proud to be Junior Vice President of the British Veterinary Nurse Association. Jo attends many events, gives lectures and writes articles for the veterinary industry as well as the general public and schools. She has received several awards over the years including the Blue Cross Veterinary Nurse of the Year in 2014, an RCVS Innovation Award winner in 2017 and the IFAW Animal Advocate Award in 2017.Lagolearn
