Start time: 9:15 AM - 4:30 PM

About the Course
Want to know more about diabetes mellitus? Then this is the CPD course for you! Diabetes is a commonly encountered hormone disease in small animal practice and the key to a successful outcome is communication and teamwork. Nurses play a central role in managing these really interesting patients.

Who is it that owners usually look to for advice about their diabetic pets? You – of course! Why is my dog still so thirsty? Why is my cat getting thinner yet she doesn’t stop eating? What’s fructosamine? What are blood glucose curves and how do we interpret them? Why do diabetic dogs get cataracts? What’s the best diet for a diabetic cat? The answers to these questions, and many more, will be revealed.

This is a five-hour course covering all aspects of dog and cat diabetes. It will be an informal and interactive programme – delegates can participate as little or as much as they choose. The aim is to provide an enjoyable and informative day, focussing on practical advice to take back to your Practice.
