About this course

Nervous about nerve blocks? Jittery about joint medications?

This course will focus on practical tips and techniques to arm you with further skills to embark on lameness investigations. It is a one-day course that will cover both forelimb and hindlimb nerve and joint blocks. The three experienced tutors will refresh your anatomical knowledge, give tips on how to perform each block and how to interpret them. Each lecture will contain many videos demonstrating positioning and landmarks. Options for joint medications will be covered including an evidence based, practical approach to regenerative medicine.

The afternoon will be entirely devoted to a practical session giving you the chance to practice nerve blocks on cadaver limbs, including synovial blocks with contrast radiography. Limbs will then be dissected to demonstrate the site of blocks and functional anatomy. The course is aimed at new and recent graduates, or anyone looking to gain confidence with nerve and joint blocks. The practical sessions will give you plenty of time to practise the nerve and joint blocks, then dissecting the limbs to review anatomy.

Why do this course?
To increase your confidence in performing and interpreting nerve blocks for the benefit of your patients.
