Feline Abdominal Ultrasound: The Value of Ultrasound in Feline Abdominal Diseases

This two-day practical and case-based course is aimed at improving your feline abdominal ultrasound skills and illustrating how ultrasound can prove invaluable in the investigation of cats with abdominal disease.
Morning sessions will consist of case-based lectures focusing on common feline diseases of the day’s target organs, followed by afternoon sessions of practical ultrasonography with a short introductory ultrasound technique lecture.
Topics to be covered include:
Day 1: Liver and Kidneys
Morning:
Case-based presentations covering aspects of feline liver and biliary tract disease and acute kidney disease including nephrolithiasis and ureteric obstruction (“big kidney little kidney syndrome”) and renal lymphosarcoma.
Afternoon:
Practical ultrasound – liver and kidneys
How to take ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirated and bile aspirates
Day 2: The Pancreas and The Gastrointestinal Tract
Morning:
Case-based presentations covering common diseases such as pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, diffuse small intestinal lymphosarcoma and gastrointestinal obstructions.
Afternoon:
Practical ultrasound – pancreas and gastrointestinal tract
