In 2018, the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) published the first feline-specific anaesthesia guidelines in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. This course will look at these guidelines and how they relate to feline anaesthesia in the practice setting. Cats undergoing anaesthesia are at a relatively greater risk of complications and mortality than many other species and veterinary nurses can make a huge difference in how we manage these patients reducing perioperative stress and implementing cat friendly anaesthesia.Topics to be covered:Use and Care of EquipmentPreanaesthetic assessmentsManagement of fearful cats for anaesthesiaHow age can affect anaesthetic managementHow certain comorbidities can affect anaesthesiaAnaesthesia and SedationAirway managementMonitoring during anaesthesia and dealing with perioperative ComplicationsAnaesthesia RecoveryCOURSE DATE: Friday 15th February 2019COURSE TIME: 10.00am - 5.30pmLECTURER:Claire RobertsAVAILABLE SPACES: YesPRICE:£195.00 VATADDRESS:The Clinical Skills Lab Manor Place, 204a Manor Place, Kennington, London.
