COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis course has been designed to equip the equine practitioners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to make the most of their abilities and ultrasound machine, in the diagnosis and treatment of various equine musculoskeletal conditions affecting the mid and distal frontlimb and hindlimb, including the stifle joint. This course is suitable for all vets aiming to improve their knowledge and skills in this area, as the practical sessions will be adapted to the attendees skill level.To participate in the On-Location Portion, attendees are required to have first worked through the corresponding online Lecture Series Ultrasound of the Mid-Distal Limb & Stifle for Equine Practitioners':If you have already purchased the Lecture Series independently of the On-Location Portion, please contact the office on [email protected] for a voucher code to reduce the price accordingly.This course covers the following topics systematically and via highly illustrated lectures:How to get the most out of your ultrasound machineUltrasonographic Anatomy and Conditions of the Foot & Pastern Digital Flexor Tendon Sheath & Annular LigamentFetlock Joint RegionFlexor Tendons & Check LigamentsSuspensory Ligament Frontlimb vs. Hindlimb Carpus & Carpal SheathTarsus, Tarsal Bursae & Sheath Stifle Joint RegionDay 1 starts at 15:00h with 3 hours of interactive Case-Discussions, Q&A which will give attendees the unique opportunity to apply what they have learned during Lecture Series in discussion with the world-renowned specialists. This will then be followed by the obligatory Wine & Cheese Reception allowing for attendees to socialise with colleagues and the speakers/instructors.On the second day, 7 hours of practical sessions will give attendees the opportunity to put theory into practice on live horses and equine specimens and to ask questions in small groups (2 4 attendees / ultrasound machine), all under the supervision of specialists. The following practical sessions will be covered during the course:Machine set-up, foot & pastern, digital flexor tendon sheath, fetlock region, suspensory ligament, flexor tendons & check ligaments, tarsus & tarsal sheath and the stifle joint region.The course fee includes coffee/tea breaks, a wine & cheese reception, lunch and a certificate of attendance. To participate in the On-Location Case-Discussions & Practical Sessions, attendees are required to have first worked through the Lecture Series (included in the price). Early course registration is recommended as there are only a limited number of places available due to the highly practical nature of this course.
