Making a Real Difference to Osteoarthritis Cases; new perspectives on an old diseaseThere are many new developments changing our understanding of OA as a disease and the opportunities for managing it. Far from being the incurable end-stage problem, which was viewed as an unavoidable consequence of ageing, it is now regarded as a dynamic multi-tissue disease that can be managed successfully. The importance of OA as a significant and enduring source of chronic pain in the canine population has stimulated interest and created new challenges aimed at finding solutions to deal with that pain. New understanding of the pathology offers insights and possibilities to not only reduce pain but to also alter the pathological progress of the disease. The day will offer the chance to consider both the traditional management methods alongside new ideas and management solutions for the problem. Discussion about implementing a new way to improve arthritis management at practice level is also planned.Topics to be covered include:Understanding the pathology inside and outside the jointChoosing treatment options based on specific disease targetsNew options for treatmentMaking multimodal management workMeasuring success and sharing this with clients.COURSE DATE:Wednesday 23rd January 2019COURSE TIME:10.00am - 5.30pmLECTURER:Stuart CarmichaelPRICE:£295.00 VATADDRESS:Manor Place, 204a Manor Place, Kennington, London.
