This interactive one day course will provide colleagues in general practice with an up to date overview of how to approach and treat patients presenting with diabetes mellitus, both canine and feline.Starting with a review of the different types of diabetes mellitus encountered in veterinary practice and their causal aetiologies, the course will then move on to cover the medical and dietary management options currently available and more importantly how to choose the correct option for each patient to ensure an successful outcome. Treatment options currently in clinical trial that may become available in the near future will also be covered as well as an approach to those cases that you just cant seem to stabilise; thus enabling delegates to not only treat these cases effectively in general practice but also work with specialist centres to optimise results where necessary.
