1st November 2019Returning to small animal practice after a career break, or moving into small animal practice from large animal work? Consult with confidence after this one day refresher course. We will discuss some common small animal medical presentations such as vomiting, diarrhoea, fever and polydipsia; including any recent changes in the way these cases are managed. After the course you should feel confident to recognise the vomiting dog that is hiding more significant illness, know which symptomatic therapies should (and shouldnt) be used in acute diarrhoea, and which investigations to start with in a case of canine diarrhoea. We will also review hyperthyroidism and chronic kidney disease- two frequent diagnoses in small animal practice, and look at the up-to-date thinking on how to best approach these cases.Topics to be covered include:Problem solving approachApproach to the vomiting/diarrhoeaApproach to PUPDThe problematic pyrexia of unknown originThe skinny old cat: whats new in hyperthyroidism & chronic kidney diseaseWhats new in small animal medicine? a quick run through of recent changes in clinical practicewww.centralcpd.co.ukwww.vet-ecpd.com
