Neurological cases in first opinion practice can appear quite intimidating, especially when referral is not an option for practical reasons. This course will consider small animal neurological patients from the standpoint of a first opinion clinician. An understanding of basic neuroanatomy will be used to explain what can be achieved in general practice in terms of presumptive and definitive diagnoses for the more common presentations. The course will then progress to discuss the rational approach to treatment in cases where advanced imaging such as MRI is not available
