The ESF is a very useful fracture management tool when used correctly. Like every other technique there are rules that underpin the basis of successful management. This course will focus on these basic rules and how they enable good outcomes. Attention will be paid to identifying when the ESF is a good option; detailing how to get frame design and strength correct for the situation being addressed; discussing application technique and finally looking at expectations of healing; aftercare and frame removal. The different application techniques in dogs compared to cats will also be explored. This one day cadaver based practical course will balance theory with practical application with the opportunity to build and apply frames in different scenarios as a key part of learning.Topics to be covered include:Biology and biomechanics of ESF fixationHow to apply frames in different situations in the lower limbCommon mistakes and how to avoid themAfter-care; assessment and removalUsing ESF in upper limb fracturesCOURSE DATE:Friday 24th May 2019COURSE TIME:10.00am - 5.30pmLECTURER:Stuart CarmichaelPRICE:£549.00 VATADDRESS:The Clinical Skills Lab Manor Place, 204a Manor Place, Kennington, London.
