This one-day highly practical cadaver-based course focuses on the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) procedure for the treatment of cranial cruciate disease. The course is aimed at veterinary surgeons that are familiar with basic orthopaedic procedures and the use of implants, including plates and screws. Starting with a review of the relevant surgical anatomy and biomechanics of the TPLO procedure, we will then move on to a detailed discussion of preoperative radiograph assessment and the surgical planning that is required for surgical success. The majority of the day will then consist of wet lab practical cadaver surgery, allowing delegates to implement this knowledge and develop their surgical skills.
