Rabbit anaesthesia has a bad reputation for being difficult, stressful and often going wrong however with the right knowledge this no longer has to be the case! The aim of this course is to give delegates the up to date knowledge & confidence to make safer and more appropriate choices when planning and undertaking rabbit anaesthesia. This highly interactive one-day course will cover top tips for a smoother GA and will look closer at airway management techniques including positioning, intubation and monitoring options. It will also discuss the holistic approach to anaesthesia, which involves looking deeper into the patients health and husbandry directly before and after anaesthesia. A recap of anatomy, physiology and behaviour will allow delegates to understand how rabbits are different to cats and dogs and why anaesthesia needs to be specifically tailored for this species to ensure success.Practical workshops using bespoke teaching models will allow a rare hands on learning experience at endotracheal tube placement and intravenous cannula placement.Topics to be covered include:Implications of anatomy, physiology, husbandry and behaviourTop tips for smoother GAIntubation and airway management (including practical workshop on endotracheal tube placement)Options for monitoringEmergency careBenefits of stress reduction at home and in clinicPractical hospitalisation considerationsCOURSE DATE:Monday 8th June 2020COURSE TIME:10.00am - 5.30pmLECTURER:Jo HindePRICE:£195.00 VATADDRESS:The Clinical Skills Lab Manor Place,204a Manor Place,Kennington,London.
