In this course, we will equip you with a solid foundation knowledge in reptile husbandry, behaviour and nutrition; the basic factors that are vital to their successful care in captivity. As well as delving into the care requirements of some of the most common pet reptile species, we will cover practical aspects of medical, surgical and nursing care in the vet clinic environment.A top 10 of reptile clinical conditions will highlight just what can go wrong if captive husbandry and diet are sub optimal. This will allow you to advise reptile owners on how best to avoid health problems in their pets. Understanding the natural history and biology of reptiles in their wild habitat is the key to providing them with successful conditions in the captive environment. As well as confidently treating them in a clinical setting.After this course, you will return to practice confident to diagnose, treat and nurse reptile patients effectively, as well as be able to teach owners (and your colleagues) more about this fascinating group of animals.
