About this course
Are you an experienced RVN with an interest in anaesthesia who is looking to develop their knowledge and understanding to manage more complex patients and procedures?

Advanced anaesthesia refers to the use of cutting-edge techniques and technologies to manage pain and consciousness during surgery or other medical procedures. It involves not only the administration of anaesthetic drugs but also the monitoring and maintenance of vital functions such as breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure through sophisticated equipment. Techniques such as total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA), partial intravenous anaesthesia (PIVA), and the use of nerve blocks allow for more precise control, leading to improved patient outcomes and quicker recovery times. Advanced anaesthesia also emphasises personalised care, where the anaesthetic plan is tailored to each patient's unique medical profile, ensuring both safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

This is an advanced anaesthesia nursing course which is suitable for the experienced veterinary nurse who is already managing a more complex patient or procedure for anaesthesia.

Why do this course?
You will learn how to better manage anaesthesia of the sick patient and those undergoing complex procedures. Knowledge will be shared on the online platform by a range of learning materials, including recorded webinars, self-test quizzes, articles, and sharing experiences via discussion.
