This equine course will cover the common and more unusual conditions of the horse digestive system, including predispositions, prevention and practical tips. The course aims to make participants confident in assessing acute and chronic colics, working up weight loss cases and recognising dental, gastric and intestinal disease.

The Speakers
Michelle Logan (nee Dicken) MA VetMB CertAVP(ESST) FANZCVS(Equine Medicine) MRCVS<br /> •Obtained Membership in Medicine of Horses in 2008 and commenced a Residency at Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital under the Supervision of Professor Joe Mayhew.<br /> •Involved in the evaluation and treatment of surgical, medical and lameness referral cases during her Residency giving her experience in diagnostic and imaging techniques together with the various treatment options.<br /> •Gained ANZCVS Fellowship in Equine Medicine in 2014 and is now based in Southland, New Zealand where she works in first opinion practice, provides a referral consultancy service and is undertaking research into Equine Metabolic Syndrome funded by the NZERF.<br />
