We will discuss and demonstrate advances in IV catheter site preparation and ways in which we can monitor indwelling catheters being used on our patients. We will look at the evidence that guides how frequently IV catheters should be changed.We will also look at the importance of hand hygiene when dealing with indwelling catheters. Will you be brave enough to take the GLOW test during the session?

Speaker: Claire Roberts DipAVN(Surg) PGCertVetAA VNCertECC RVNClaire has been veterinary nursing for over 20 years. In 2006 I gained the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Surgical) and in 2013 I gained the VN certificate in Emergency and Critical care. Claire successfully passed the post graduate certificate in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia which forms part of the MSc in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She works part time as a theatre nurse for Northwest Surgeons a multi disciplinary referral centre based in Cheshire alongside running SynergyCPD
