By providing an insight of the pathophysiology you can fully understand what is happening on the inside, why we choose certain drugs and how your nursing skills can really make a difference. IMHA & IMTP are both common conditions we see in practice. The nursing involvement and spotting early signs can really change the outcome for your patients.We will discuss:-Pathophysiology what is really wrong?-Clinical Signs what owner may notice-Clinical Examination subtle changes and what they mean-Diagnosis what tests are required and why?-Management what drugs do we use and why?-Nursing considerations how can you make a difference?

The Speakers

Speaker: Sophie Louise McMurrough RVN VTS (SAIM)Sophie qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2011. Since then she has worked in many different practices across the north west of England including the UKs largest ECC hospital. She completed a BSAVA Merit award on anaesthesia analgesia in 2013. Currently working at a specialist referral hospital in Frodsham, Northwest Veterinary Specialists. Sophie has practiced since 2013 as both a charge nurse in charge of the daily running of the clinical cases alongside her role as a Nurse Team Leader of the small animal internal medicine department. After passing her AIMVT examinations in Washington DC, Sophie became a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Sophies areas of interest are endocrinology and emergency medicine.
