About this course
This webinar is aimed at describing the main indications and how to best perform certain surgical procedures out in the field in an urgent setting. It is designed to give the practitioners who deal with horses the confidence to treat some surgical conditions in the field in an emergency situation.

The key areas that will be covered by the lecture are the main indications to perform the emergency procedures listed above and to describe how to best perform them.

This webinar was part of the Fundamentals of equine practice – emergency series that ran in 2019. The other webinars in this series are:

First aid and resuscitation of the sick neonatal foal
The non-weight bearing horse including fracture stabilisation
Decision making with a horse with colic
