Nodular skin lesions are a common presenting sign in the horse and may manifest as papules, nodules, wheals, masses or ulceration. Definitive diagnosis is essential in order to select an appropriate treatment and provide an accurate diagnosis. This webinar will cover the diagnostic approach to nodular skin disease and focus on the treatment of common diseases that may be encountered in practice, including novel treatments for sarcoids and melanomas.

The webinar has been designed to provide veterinarians from mixed or equine practice with the knowledge and confidence to diagnose and treat common nodular skin diseases in practice.

The key areas that will be covered by the lecture include the classification and diagnostic approach to nodular skin diseases, followed by an in‐depth review of the most common diseases seen in practice, including eosinophilic granulomas, cutaneous habronemiasis, sarcoids, melanomas, squamous cell carcinomas and urticarial lesions.

This webinar was part of the Fundamentals of equine practice – medicine series that ran in 2019. The other webinars in this series are:

Investigation and management of cutaneous lumps and bumps
Practical management of the coughing horse
So, the liver enzymes are raised and the white cell count is low…? Practical interpretation of your biochemistry and haematology
