The Speakers
Claire Sharp (BSc, BVMS, MS, DACVECC) is a senior lecturer in the College of Veterinary Medicine, School of Veterinary and Life Sciences. She did her veterinary training at Murdoch, graduating with a BSc, BVMS(Hons), in 2002. After a few years in private general and emergency practice in Canberra Claire moved to the United States to pursue her specialty training. She did a Rotating Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Oklahoma State University (2004-2005), followed by a Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Internship at the University of Missouri (2005-2006).Claire then stayed on at the University of Missouri to complete her Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Residency and a Masters degree in Veterinary Clinical Sciences (2006-2009). Thereafter she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and took a faculty position at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, Massachusetts where she worked from 2009-2015. Claire returned to Murdoch for an academic position in July 2015.
