We are now looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our 6 full time equivalent vet team. This is a varied role including consulting and operating in our designated theatre. We are looking for someone to work 30 hours a week and a share of the Saturday morning rota (1 in 3). No OOH. Our clinical director is very open to discussing suitable hours for the right candidate and having many working parents in the clinic we can understand the need to provide flexibility.
Hook Veterinary Centre is a single site, spacious, newly refurbished small animal practice in the heart of Hampshire. We are a nurse training practice, silver ISFM accredited and part of the practice standards scheme. We are well equipped with a range of diagnostic equipment including full in-house lab, ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-ray and K-laser. We have a varied case load worked up to a high standard and treated by the experienced team including visiting soft tissue/orthopaedic surgeons & cardiologist.
Hook Veterinary Centres' focus is on the mental and physical wellbeing of the team. We have a number of team members that have worked at the practice for many years as well as newer members who have been welcomed into the Hook Family fold. We have 6 full time equivalent vets, 6 full time qualified nurses, 3 student nurses and a wonderful nursing assistant. We have team members working towards further qualifications in cardiology, anaesthesia, emergency & critical care, dog behaviour and feline medicine. A number of our team already hold further qualifications in acupuncture, feline & canine behaviour as well Fear Free practitioner status. Our clinical director is very people focused and will support your career aspirations and desires to progress. Where possible we work with local charities and the community including veterinary support at events/dog shows and collecting donations for a local rescue centre.
We are ideally looking for someone who is confident in surgery as well as consulting, sharing ideas and wanting to be part of a strong team. There is no sole charge at Hook Vets and we pride ourselves in collaborating within the team for difficult cases. The candidate must be a full member of the RCVS and hold a full UK driving licence or equivalent.
