We are recruiting a Locum Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice in Darlington.This is an ongoing position working 4 days per week with a 1:3 weekend rota. This comprises of one full weekend of Saturday and Sunday nights and the one-half weekend Friday night and Saturday morning until 1pm. There is one day and night duty in a week and the weekends worked can count as days worked with time off in lieu during the week if required.
The working hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm and 9am – 7pm if on duty. The practice offers 10-20-minute consultations. There is no sole charge work involved except when the Vet is on call. The practice boasts two branches so there maybe a requirement for consultation work at the branch practice close by.
About the practice
They comprise of a team of 4.5 Vets along with 8 nurses. The nurses also do a night shift rota, and they answer the phone and look after in patients.
This is a first opinion practice, and the role will involve a mixture of both consultations and surgeries. The surgeries are mainly routine.
There is accommodation available if required which is a flat at the branch surgery or there are in house facilities for overnight stays at the main practice.
The role is available from March ongoing and will most likely be for several months if required.
They are fully equipped offering a range of facilities including ECG, Ultrasound, In house laboratory and digital x-ray.
