The Role
Summerdale Vets have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Manager to join their fantastic team.
Day to Day duties will include management of the office and finance and overseeing the team. The successful candidate will also be involved in marketing and business development as well as ensuring high ethics and professional standards are maintained. Other responsibilities include:
- Lead on non-clinical matters at Cwmbran, Chepstow and Malpas practices
- Support Functions
- Staff rotas
- Training for non-clinical staff
- Ensure cash security
- Debt Collection
We are flexible on work patterns and can accommodate 4 or 5 days between 30 and 39 hours a week. The salary is up to £30,000 depending on experience.
About Us
Our fantastic practice is based in a business park in Cwmbran, with excellent access to shopping centres, travel links, and landmarks alike! Including Cwmbran Boating Lake, Greenmeadow Community Farm, Llantarnum Grange, All creatures Great & Small animal sanctuary, Llanyrafon Manor and Congress Theatre to name but a few!
Our practice allows us to provide the best possible care and includes facilities such as a spacious waiting area, 2 consult rooms, a large prep/operating room, and kennels. We also have a dental machine, X-ray, Ultrasound and Idexx machine.
About the Team and Culture
The best part about our practice is by far our team! We have 2 FTE vets, 1.5 FTE registered veterinary nurses and 3 support staff. We have team members with dermatology and ultrasound certificates, giving us the excellent opportunity to expand our services and develop knowledge across the team. As a practice, we are involved in supporting local animal charities. Our team are looking for a practice manager who will encourage them to work well together and support them in providing clinical excellence.
Applicant Requirements
Experience in the veterinary sector/a management role is desirable.
Our perfect applicant would also hold further management qualifications, but this is not essential. We are looking for applicants with good written and verbal English, the ability to manage people, deal with complaints and some knowledge of payroll and HR. Good organisational skills are essential, as is being a team player.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, friendly, and have strong leadership skills with a willingness to support all staff. You will enjoy a challenge and be able to deal with difficult scenarios pragmatically. A passion for managing people is a huge element of this role. We are looking for candidates with previous experience in IT and change management.
