We have an exciting opportunity to welcome a new Practice Manager to our wonderful team at Cootes Vets!
The role will involve reporting to the Clinical Director and Business Support Manager for operational, financial and employee matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice, the development, and expansion of the business, promoting improvements and actively working towards achieving practice standards, and being an active member of the Management Team. This is a varied role and will involve working with internal stakeholders in HR, recruitment, marketing, and payroll. The role will also involve budgeting, debt management, appraisals, and overall coordination of the practice.
Working hours will be across 5 days a week, but we are able to allow some flexibility and would therefore welcome flexible working requests providing they suit practice needs. There will be no weekend duties or OOH requirements.
Salary for the role is up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
Cootes is an award-winning practice, situated in Burgess Hill just 20 minutes from Brighton and Crawley. We are on a good commuter route with ample parking, and we are close to all amenities with a short walk to town and transport links. We have the beautiful Sussex countryside right on our doorstep with plenty of walking routes if you like to get out in your lunch break.
We have Vets with a wealth of knowledge in small animal and exotic care. Our clinic is large, roomy and has recently been refurbished. We offer large kennel area, theatre and Prep room and a dedicated animal exercise area. Cootes has a fantastic, friendly, well established customer base who will make you feel right at home. About the Team and Culture
We have 2 very experienced Veterinary Surgeons and a Locum Vet once a week. There is also 1 Head Nurse, 1 full time Nurse and 1 part time Nurse along with 3 Receptionists, and a Practice Manager. As a team we like to get together for social events as often as we can! We have an annual charity dog show as well as getting involved with local charities. Similarly, we fully support all employees with any charity fundraising they take part in. We love to have fun here and explore new opportunities to bring the team together.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, friendly, and have strong leadership skills with a willingness to support all staff. You will enjoy a challenge and be able to deal with difficult scenarios in a pragmatic way. A passion for managing people is a huge element of this role. We are looking for candidates with previous experience of knowledge in HR, payroll, IT, and change management. Ideally, you will have 2 years+ experience in a management role.
