Nursing Manager - Busy Referral/1st Opinion Hospital
Titan Veterinary Solutions seek a candidate with a veterinary background who now wishes to move in to an administrative and managerial role.
This role will comprise of managing the nursing team and therefore interested candidates with nursing/vet backgrounds do need to realise that there will be no clinical aspects to this role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience/qualifications in management, people management/support/training. They need to have demonstrated a history of CPD/training in management rather than clinical in the past few years.
The hospital is RCVS Accredited, holds the ISFM Gold and RAW Silver practice awards and is proud to have a highly experienced team offering both first opinion and referral services. They are about to open a second hospital with even more dedicated and purpose built facilities, enabling them to expanding their gold level of care. Job Description:
- Salary: up to £35,000 DOE
- The main responsibility of the Nursing Manager will be the organisation of the nurses across both the day and night teams. You will implement strategic ways to improve the workflow and optimise the team, thus resulting in the best standard of patient care.
- To drive your colleagues to perform the best of their ability and ensure they have the resources to do so.
- Encourage individual and team development through monthly appraisals.
- Manage and comply with Health & Safety Regulations and local policy at the Hospital. Work with the Hospital Manager to improve protocols where necessary and deliver training for implementation of best practice.
- Customer Service. Being able to understand and anticipate the customer’s needs, to support provision of high-quality professional service to clients.
- Support the Client Service Manager, and Finance Manager with client complaints.
- Clinical role model (nursing or vet) within the practice, working alongside students to assist teaching of clinical skills, supervise and evaluate progress throughout their course and support our current in-house clinical coaches.
- Support the Hospital Manager with long-term development of the Hospital, creating a positive working environment with massive focus of team member morale and support network.
- 40 hours per week
- No clinical shifts however veterinary clinical experience is necessary to fully understand the role
- Strong administrative and people management focus
- 1 in 4 weekends, flexibility in working shifts (potentially spanning 8:30am to 8:30pm weekdays), and flexibility to work occasional nights, (i.e. when night team training, SOP optimisation and colleague 1-2-1’s may be required).
