We are seeking a Head Veterinary Receptionist to join our busy hospital in Kensington. This role will be supporting a team of Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses and Patient Care Assistants, assisting with reception tasks and welcoming all clients and patients into the practice.
The successful candidate will have previous receptionist or in customer facing experience, as well as a love for animals, although no prior animal care experience is required. This position will best suit a proactive enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and exceptional communication skills. You will be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure and prioritise your work load whilst maintaining a friendly and welcoming disposition.
The duties of the Head Veterinary Receptionist include, but are not limited to: managing and leading the client care team, prompt and efficient telephone answering and service, dealing with routine client queries, making appointments, taking payments, submitting insurance claims, cashing up at end of day and end of week, banking, conversing with clients and staff members, taking and relaying messages, cleaning, stock taking, inputting laboratory results onto client records, maintaining and promoting H&S in the reception area and other parts of the practice as required, sending and responding to emails, etc.

This role works within our light and spacious, purpose-built hospital in Kensington. The clinic is excellently equipped with digital x-ray, laparasccopic stack system, dental x-ray full in-house lab, ultrasound, separate dog and cat wards, isolation and 2 operating theatres.
The team is really friendly and experienced, you will be working with 3 vets, 3 RVNs, a student nurse and a patient care assistant and 1 other receptionist
There is a staff area and kitchenette for break times and the clinic is located close to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. You will also be surrounded by some very nice cafes.
24-Hour Kensington is a 5 minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station and there are multiple nearby bus routes.
