The role

The role required by the position comprises assisting vets, qualified and student nurses with all aspects of their work, including caring for animals, administering simple medical treatments under instruction and supervision, setting up for surgery, x-rays and medical procedures, walking, cleaning and monitoring animals, caring for the clinical environment, many aspects of client communication, taking payments, computer use, and travel between branches as required, expected to undertake formal training towards a veterinary nursing qualification.

Skills and experience

Essential Attributes: Five or more GCSE’s (or equivalent) including mathematics, science and English English language skills No unspent criminal convictions Computer literate Ability to communicate effectively Empathy with patients and clients Demonstrate initiative in patient welfare Understand boundaries in patient care

Desirable Attributes: Driving licence (almost essential) Demonstrable ability to work in a team / lead a team (as appropriate to role) Demonstrable ability to work under pressure Attention to detail Veterinary experience / animal experience and realistic job expectations Adaptable Presentable Friendly, outgoing nature and customer service experience

The Mobile Veterinary Care Assistnat role is integral to the smooth running of our branches and it is the beginning of your veterinary nurse journey.

The branches being covered by this role include Hyde Park, Parsons Green, Fulham, Notting Hill, West Kensington and the newly built Kensington Hospital.
